Chin acne

Any home remedies I can do before I attempt to drag him to the vet?

I stupidly changed to plastic bowls, switched back to stainless steel a few weeks ago.

He had 3 scabs on his chin, now 2.

He doesn't bother them and is eating and moaning at me to play with him as usual. I've looked at a million pictures and it's definitely cat acne. No signs of infection and scabbed over well.

I have the buggerlugs antiseptic spray and just started with the Johnson skin eez cream but he really hates it.

My tubby tuxedo got a mild case of this over summer, I’ve no idea where from. I just kept an eye on it and it disappeared completely after about 3-4 weeks without treatment. It didn’t seem to bother him at all either, he let me keep checking it. If it had spread or had broken skin he’d have been off to the vet sharpish, but as he really isn’t keen on car travel I thought I’d wait until end August jabs to ask vet. It had gone by then of its own accord. How long has CleanShirtCat had it? Sounds like it’s already improving?

Thank you, sounds really similar! Just checking my Amazon and I ordered new stainless steel bowls 16 days ago, not got any worse since then. Hoping the fact they they're proper scabs and he's not bothering them means it'll just go away!

My vet gave me a Chlorhexadine wash to use on my cat's chin, using cotton pads to gently scrub under his chin twice a day. He had a bad case and ended up needing antibiotics as well, but you can probably easily source some Chlorhexadine as it's often used as a post surgical wash. Just make sure if it's concentrated that it's diluted as per the instructions.

Thank you, I will get some!
