Just noticed this weird thing on my cat's face, is it a skin tag? Some sort of tick? She won't let me touch it, just because she doesn't know what I'm doing, she's absolutely fine in herself

Tick.. Use a proper remover. Pets at home sell them... Yuck.

Thank you so much, I'll go to pets at home now x

Yes - tick. Local pet shop, get a tick twister - they are usually only a few pounds.

(Then lots of cuddles and Dreamies after, of course).

Definitely a tick, however I would get a vet to remove it due to its location. They are easy to remove with tick removal tools but if you have zero experience, don't risk it because it is on her face.

Get a good combined flea and tick treatment from your vet too, Credelio tablets are very effective.

FYI you will find it oddly satisfying when you pull it out. Be careful to pull gently not twist. You need the whole tick out...

Thanks so much everyone, all brilliant advice and will try the towel wrap method

All done! That was indeed quite satisfying, my daughter had to feed her dreamies while I did it and she still wriggled free twice despite being held tightly in a blanket and then twisted her head at the crucial moment so kind of extracted it herself but I was mid twist and I'm sure the head was removed too. She's not talking to me now, but we'll make up later. Thanks all 👍

Glad it had a happy ending!

Do a fingertip search of the rest of her - including inside the ears, for any more of the buggers. They may look smaller if they haven't fed yet. Keep checking, in case she's going back to the same dead hedgehog. Cats, eh?

Yes, good point, will do!
