Settling in a new kitten

I would love some tips for settling in a kitten to a busy household. How slow to take it? Any safety things to remember? I have an existing cat too and it’s been a while since I did this.
I’ll add cat tax too

Aw she’s beautiful, we have a tiny tabby 8 week old too, she’s lovely. We have a golden retriever but she’s totally confident the only things we’ve really done is to make sure bathroom door is shut, made sure there is nothing she can hurt herself with and given her a cozy safe space at night. She’s currently terrorising our 8 month old kitten hopefully they’ll be great friends. We keep them apart at night for now. Over kitten is a bit rough at times.

How has the older kitten taken to the new arrival? Is your older kitten outdoor?

We adopted 2 kittens a month ago.

We found they needed to take it slow - especially when it comes to exploring the house. We kept them confined to one room at first, which was definitely a good call. Even the more confident kitten found the new space daunting - it was nearly 2 weeks before she showed any inclination to leave her safe room (and even now she is much less relaxed elsewhere in the house and has only really expanded her territory to one other room). Now the door is open to their room all the time and they do run back and forward, but they still default to that room.

However, our kittens had only lived in one small room in foster care. If yours is used to having the run of a bigger area they may find that less of a challenge. But I would definitely take it slow when it comes to meeting the existing cat.

Your kitten is gorgeous, by the way.

Be guided by the kitten...we got two kittens 2 weeks apart unrelated. The first one hid...didn't want to explore. The second one scouted and sniffed about, poked her nose in open cupboards etc. If you observe the hiding, skittishness then take it slow, if you observe the curious creeping about sniffing room to room, then I'd say it's going ok just let them scout it out.
