A man on my street was moving and "needed this kitten gone or else" so I took it in on Saturday - I already have another adult cat who is very aggressive and territorial and not happy to have doors closed senses the kitten & can hear it wailing .

It's not chipped , I've flea treated it and wormed it - vet isn't being very helpful and cannot get through to any cat charities who can foster this baby.

I've set it up a XL crate for night time (12-5:30) which it's been fine with - so it doesn't risk escaping / hurting itself and it has run of the hallway . My house isn't safe currently for it to be unsupervised as we are renovating.

My partner is currently in hospital and no idea what to do here so please be kind . I'm feeding it and keeping it safe until I work out a plan .

The poor little thing. That man sounds awful. I'm glad you've taken it in. There's a high chance the other cat will learn to live with it, and they could even become quite friendly.

Once the other cat knows the kitten they should start getting on better. The kitten will probably look up to the other cat and try and befriend him, then eventually he will relent.

Worse case scenario is they don't really spend any time in the same room. But if you cannot take on the kitten then could you take it to Celia Hammond?

I wish I could take another little cat. I feel I could manage three, there's plenty of space. But my family won't allow it. I hope it all works out either way x

What sort of area are you in and people might be able to suggest somewhere that could take it . How old is it ?

I am in London and I'd guess around 3-4 months . Will call Celia Hammond now

The problem with the other girl is she was a street cat taken in by my neighbour and I and she is very territorial . I have footage of her attacking foxes and also feral males coming into our garden .

I just don't want to take the risk of this little thing getting hurt as I don't think my nerves can take anything happening like that this week !

@namestevalian Ah, if they're both girls it could be more of an issue. I had this situation but they were both males.
Do you have a Celia Hammond near you? They should be able to take her.

The kitten is currently gender unconfirmed 😅 Celia Hammond are full - looks like it's staying with me until a solution can be found

I spoke to one of my ex rescuer friends ( I drive and fostered for a charity previously but they closed down ) she said if the cat was in rescue it would be in a cage anyway - so not to worry about having to keep it safe - and that I'm doing the best I can and that it could be a lot worse

Just panicking that the cat may suffer in this set up

Health check tomorrow and we will consider options

Would Battersea take him / her ?

Would Battersea take him / her ?

I spoke to someone and it's a wait list at Battersea.

I have a vague plan now - thankfully was reassured he's as good here as anywhere - he'd be in a cage in the rescue so it's fine for him to be crated here at night and in an enclosed room.

I felt terrible he's having to be enclosed but at least he is safe

My house feels like a super chaotic rescue centre as we took the dog from someone unable to cope temporarily, and the cat is an ex street girl 🤣
