Leaving cat for 32 hours

I’m going to London tomorrow overnight. I’m leaving home at 7:30 in the morning and will be back Sunday at 3:15.

As it’s just one night I thought my cat would be okay home alone, but I now feel really guilty as 32 hours is a long time and I’ve never left her that long before.

There is nobody I can ask to pop in to check on her Saturday night / Sunday morning. I plan on leaving at least 3 bowls of water and loads of dry food, wedging the doors open and making sure there are no strings hanging about.

Do you think she’ll be okay?

I leave mine that long. We leave first thing around 7am and put wet food down then for the morning. Then return 3-6pm the next day. He has auto dried food machine anyway. And normally he only gets wet food once a day anyway in evening, so I just move that evening food to morning for that one day. He has cat flap so can go in and out.

Longer than one night away we get neighbour, and longer than a few nights we have a live in cat sitter who stays with him. So he’s fully pampered. But one night away he’s fine left alone

I’ve left, my two for 30 hours at the most, but they have each other.

I do leave six litter trays in the downstairs shower room and the hall and lift any rugs. I also have food timer bowls that have ice packs underneath, three water bowls full to the brim and dried food left in different places in the house. Kitchen, conservatory and upstairs bathroom.

They've been fine, not all the food has been eaten and there’s usually some unused litter trays.

I've done that and it was absolutely fine. Have a nice time in London!

I have a nervous, clingy cat and she is fine home alone for one night. I do have an automatic feeder though so her food doesn't get too stale.

I’m back! She was pleased to see me, and absolutely fine! Some dry food and plenty of water leftover. She’s out in the garden prowling in the wet grass 😁

Glad to hear! Always a bit nerve wracking when you change their routine like that for the first time.

Good! I am about to be reunited with my cat after 26 hours away. I always feel guilty, but I have also obligations to my aged father (who I've just been visiting). My cat has a better life than at least 99% of cats worldwide and although she would prefer me to be at her side 24/7 she is perfectly fine for a day alone.

I have done it and mine was totally fine. She prefer being left at home than going to a cattery. The cattery I use don’t take them for less than 2 days anyway. I leave biscuits on a timer feeder.
