Just need to offload: Took our gorgeous fella (aged 13) back to the vet today as he has been losing weight since earlier in the year.
Told by vet back in April, nothing to worry about, it was worms, and packed off with some more worming tablets.
He's now down to 2.8kg. Vet can now feel multiple masses in his lower bowel. Options are either for further tests and biopsies; steroids to help appetite and give him an energy boost, or PTS.
We are all devastated.
We are all agreed not to do any invasive testing, so we are trying some steroids, but vet thinks we are looking at weeks.
He's sitting by the fridge yapping for chicken, so he's happy in himself, so we'll just keep on keeping going on with him until he goes naturally, or we think the time has come.
He is just the best boy x

I would do the same. Give him all the love and treats you can manage then gently let him go in your arms.. I’m sorry for your troubles

I had similar with my girl. A scan showed her intestines were really abnormal. She was never unwell with it. Not sure if the steroids make her ill, but it was suddenly time after one day on them. So sad, but it was the right thing to do.

He is gorgeous @testingtesting

My 13 year old house panther has had blood tests and biopsies today as he has couple of lumps on his back and has been losing weight.
I’ve been in tears at the vet, worried it doesn’t look good.

They really are part of the family.
In your position I would do the same as you.
Sending love.
