Hello all - I'm going to cross-post this with The Doghouse to see if there is advice over there.

We recently lost our wonderful 13 year old collie cross. We were a family with 2 (female) dogs and 4 cats (1 male, 3 female).

They've always co-habited peacefully - apart from the odd swipe when someone gets a bit close to someone else's food 😉

Since our lovely girl died, it's become very apparent that she was ruling the roost with an iron paw. Our other dog (age 12) is displaying signs of grief, and we've taken advice from our vet on how to help her.

The cats, however... It's like the parents have left and the teenagers have gone wild. So much hissing, fighting, spraying, soiling...

I'm assuming this is something to do with a power vacuum. I kind of wish we'd been able to do a handover with our lovely hound before she left us. It feels very Secret Lives If Pets.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Any advice to offer/suggestions of resources to read?

Thanks in advance 😊

Try feliway multicat plug ins around the house perhaps?
