Suggestions for insurance providers for elderly cat

Hi, all
Does anyone know of a pet insurance provider they would recommend?

I've just had a renewal quote of £39 a month for my neutered 15-year-old moggy. She has been insured with this provider for several years and I have never made a claim with them or the previous company. She had a serious accident involving surgery a couple of years before I got her (I adopted her when she was four) but has had no issues since, apart from a few teeth out when I first got her and a scale and polish every few years. I've put her on over-the-counter joint support medication, but that wasn't the vet's recommendation. (Although I'm glad I did, it's livened her up.) Anyway, £39 seems like a lot to me - it's up from £27 last year. Am I just out of touch, I wonder?

TIA for your advice and recommendations

We're with Animal Friends insurance for our 14yr old female, and they renewed this month at 22 quid.

To be honest they are all shit once the cat is old.

Check the details - you will have to pay the first 20% of all claims because of age of the cat. They may have snuck in a reduced top amount.

Ours used to max out at £20,000 and it’s now £5K - which doesn’t go far with a serious ongoing problem.

When the cats were young we have very extensive coverage. Now that it’s gone up to almost £50 a month each, we cancelled insurance and put £50 each into a cat savings account to tackle any future bills.

Thanks, I will look into them.

Yes, my current policy is full of exceptions and the excess amounts are quite large. It just put the tin lid on it when they started hiking up the premium as well.
