Why is my cat wee-ing on my bed?

She's 10 months, spayed, lovely little indoor cat. She's still using her litter tray but in the last couple of weeks has become a bit obsessed with digging on our duvet and then wee-ing on it - the dry cleaners are loving us right now! We've tried keeping the bedroom door shut to break the behaviour pattern, put an additional litter try upstairs (she hasn't used that one at all), making sure the other tray doesn't smell... Can anyone think why she might be doing it? Would us coming and going a bit over the summer be upsetting her (we've had people coming in to play with her etc.)? Would a Feliway plug in help? First cat so clueless!

She's lovely.

i can't help solve the weeing problem though, sorry. But you couldn't be criss with that little face,

I presume you've got yourself a very good mattress protector for when it inevitably goes through the layers??

the M&S'cool' ones are very good without being noisy

One of ours did that when she was stressed. Definitely get a Feliway. They have also started doing a treat which we've just got some of on Amazon for the new cat we're getting soon.

She is lovely, it's impossible to be cross with her 😆

I'll get some Feliway. Hopefully once we're through all the summer comings and goings, and she's grown up a bit more, she'll feel less stressy...

Maybe she would like a companion.

She needs to be checked out by the vet for anything medical first.

Usually if not unwell then they are a bit unhappy, something has happened that she doesn't like.

Change for food or litter? Visitors in the house or cats she can see from the window? Have you left her alone more than usual or gone on holiday recently?
Changes the laundry detergent?
Have you been making sure she's had enough attention/enrichment or have you been extra busy with other things over the summer?

Stress is the most likely cause but she needs to see a vet to be checked for a UTI.

One of ours used to stress wee (amongst other things) and the only thing that stopped it was letting him out to roam.

Ours did that when we bought a new mattress 😬 oh and new carpet too 😡

You need to break the habit. Clean everything with enzyme based pet spray that will stop it smelling attractive. Excluding from the room good too. Cover the bed with a waterproof sheet whenever possible?

Why is she an indoor cat? Being shut in all the time in might be stressing her out as it will stop her doing normal cat things.
