Hi all, always find this group very helpful so thought I’d post for a bit of advice.
Whilst on holiday last week the cats were cared for by a wonderful cat sitter. Unfortunately they broke into the cupboard and helped them self to a lot of treats and seemingly ate a lot of the packaging (dreamies and Webbox tasty sticks) Initially we didn’t know how much, if any, packaging was swallowed but since then big bits have come out in sick and poo. This was Wednesday evening. Both cats seem totally fine and are playing and eating. Have spoken to the vets who said that all sounds fine and no need to take them unless they seem unwell or are off food.
we are home from
holiday and keeping a close eye now. Thought we were in the clear but one cat was sick today (all fur) so am wondering if there still may be something he is trying to bring up?
would you be worried? Tummies seem soft and comfortable.
More tricky not knowing which cat had been sick. If I can avoid taking both and unsettling them I’d prefer to but don’t want to be naive if potentially one could be an issue still.

Could just be s coincidence and be a fur ball. Try not to worry and carry on monitoring them.

I would monitor at home for now - my cats are always bringing up furballs at this time of year!

Your cats were possibly grooming more because of the heat and maybe a bit stressed without you or too much time on their hands (paws)

Ours are known to be little tea leafs , in their foster home they raided a cupboard and ate loads.
In error I left a bag of their biscuits out and they busted it open to help themselves.

Ours are being CatWatched by adult DC so are loving the calm . But male cat threw up grass and spit on the bed 😼he must be missing me

Thanks for your replies. No more sick today but on inspection (totally gross) todays poo had a large piece of packaging in it. They seem to have eaten a great deal of the packaging. Presumably couldn’t get the sticks out so just ate the whole thing. Crazy!!
so I’m thinking that if they’re eating and passing foreign stuff through we’re possibly ok. Think I’m just a bit concerned still that there’s something in their tummies that isn’t coming out.

I would just keep a close eye on them and if they start losing their appetites, becoming lethargic or struggle to use the toilet then bring them to be checked ☺️

I'd give them both some sardines in veg oil, which will help to move things along!
