Cat wanting attention at night

For the last couple of months one of my cats has been an absolute nightmare at night.
Every single night, around 3/4am she wakes me, miaowing, climbing on me, scratching at the bed post until I give her attention.
She used to just sleep at the end of the bed all night, no problem, but now she's restless most of the night.
A couple of nights I've slept on the sofa when my husband has had to be out driving early the next day, and she doesn't bother me at all. It's only when I'm in my bed!
I've been away for the last week and my husband said she hasn't bothered him at all while I've been away.
I thought maybe we'd broken this cycle but tonight, I've only been in bed for an hour, and she's driven me absolutely insane!
I've had to come downstairs so she'll stop.
I can't shut her out of the bedroom or she just scratches at the door, and we're renting so I can't let her do that.
Any advice, other than 'ignore her'!? We've tried that but she doesn't get the hint! 🤪

Sounds like you better get used to sleeping on the sofa!

Feliway in the bedroom?

That's what I've just said to the teenager!
He's downstairs, so it's not even like she's looking for company... she's looking for MY attention! 😩

Feliway in the bedroom?

Worth a try! I'd forgotten about those.
We had them when we first moved in here. Will dig them out.

She probably missed you if you've been away and just wants reassurance you are staying, likely it will die down when she feels better.

Loads of love/fuss/play earlier on might help?

Mine wakes me at 4am being affectionate but he actually wants food so I got a timed feeder which has been a life saver
Mostly. He did wake me up sprinting off the bed the other night when he heard it open Grin

I know you've tried it but you really do just need to ignore her and be really consistent with it - don't get up, don't go downstairs, don't fuss her - just ignore her completely.

Every single time you fuss her, talk to her, get up with her - you're resetting the "training" - you have to be so consistent. Ear plugs in if necessary.
