Early renal food recommendations please.

One of our cats (aged approx. 14-15) has recently been identified as having the potential to develop kidney disease, as such the vet has recommended we start her on an early renal diet.
The vet wasn't particularly helpful in recommending which food but just suggested as few brands - Royal Canine, Purina Pro Plan, Hills prescription etc.

Can anyone recommend early renal food (wet & dry) that their cat actually enjoys? I think it's going to take a very gradual swap as she's very partial to her current food.

Thanks in advance ☺️

Hi, thanks. Can I ask, was that recommended for kidney issues or just because she was older? Thanks

She had renal failure due to age I guess she was diagnosed at 14 and lived till she was 19.

Thank you. She lived to a great age! I'll have a look at the Gocat.

Our nearly 17 year old cat was diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease before Christmas. Our vet recommended the same brands as yours for renal diet - Hills, Purina and Royal canine. He has tried the first two (dry food) and eats them happily, actually preferring them to his previous food! He also has a powder - ipakatine - sprinkled over his food. The vet recommended that, it's a phosphate binder. Again he eats it well, doesn't seem to notice it on the food. He's done very well since going on to the renal food, putting a little weight back on and getting some energy back for now. When he had his last blood test his levels had improved quite a lot, so the food has definitely helped.
