New cat flap, holiday, cat non-cooperative

I know, why would I expect cooperation from a cat?
Wise cat people, can you assist with this one -
2 rescue cats, we've had them for 18 months. A giant ginger boy and a tiny black girl.
Prior to May they've been kept inside when we go away, and we pay a cat sitter to visit daily.
We went away in May and boy cat decided to pee all over the house in protest, and continued to do so on and off. He now refuses to use the litter tray. We go on holiday on Wednesday for 2 weeks so in a slight panic we got a cat flap fitted on Friday to give him access outside all day, with it locking automatically at night once they're in. It's a surepet one.
Boy cat has figured out the cat flap immediately. He's food obsessed so a couple of dreamies shaken next to the flap and he was through. He's also able to easily push it with his massive head.
Girl cat, however, will go OUT fine but refuses to come in. She's generally a skittish little thing and seems nervous. I've tried posting her through it but she starfishes. The magnets seem quite strong and tricky for her to push when I finally get her in the tube. They're not removable or adjustable. We've been holding the door open with pegs but she still won't come through it.
I know she has come in through it at least once but if we're home she just sits by the backdoor meowing.
Options are, as far as I can tell -
1 - keep them both in for 2 weeks and risk boy cat peeing everywhere again
2 - keep it as it is and hope she figures it out/is just playing me - possibly reduce the window of time they're allowed out?
3 - use the surepet collar on boycat so he can go out but she can't (microchip doesn't work because I think his chip is too far down his back)
4 - ask neighbour to check she's in at night, but only from Monday onwards because she's on holiday until then
5 - ask catsitter if she can come twice a day, but this will be £££.
Anything I haven't thought of?
They both have collars with airtags but that's not so helpful in this situation!

Is girl bothered about not going out? I would be tempted to go option 3 if she isn't

cattery for boy cat? Or keep her in a limit access to most of the house? Ours are now confined to the kitchen on account of bringing live prey into our room at night (I think they like company when eating).

I just have a standard catflap rather than a microchip one but I had to spend days training my incredibly dense cat how to work out the catflap. If she can do it going out, that's a great start. I literally had to keep pushing her through it. She doesn't like using her head so I taught her to push her paws against it. If you've got time tomorrow you can see if she can learn, otherwise I would use the collar on the boy cat. Or pay the catsitter to come twice a day until your neighbour gets back?

She's more indoorsy than boycat and does use the litter tray but she likes a walk around the garden and a roll on the grass.
She seems to be most trouble once it's dark. Currently curfew is set for 9pm. I'm wondering if I set it for 5pm (tea time) she'll be hungry enough to remember how to come in and then stay in.

I think boycat would hate a cattery. He loves to run. There's nowhere I can confine her to that would give access to the food, litter and water fountain without reconfiguring everything, and I suspect they will get stressed being kept apart for 2 weeks.

So having done some research (obsessive reading) in the night I think maybe the space from the flap to the back step is too high for her - the 'out' is level with the flap but the 'in' is a jump up. So I've put a small heavy box on the step to make a mini step level with the flap on the outside to see if that makes it easier. I've also rubbed it with catnip.
I've got today to see if that helps 🤞🏽.
I've also reset the curfew to 3pm and asked the catsitter to come after 3 so if she's not in by then she can leave the door open whilst she visits. Not heard back from her yet - I think she usually comes in the morning.so hoping that's not a problem.

I have this exact issue with the cat flap and girl cat has not cracked coming in at all, to the extent she will be stuck out in the rain for hours in the event the cat flap is closed and no one to open the door for her. On days when no one is in I have to prop or tape the cat flap open but if I was actually away that would require someone to come in twice per day. We also have a step up outside so interested to know if the extra step makes any difference.

Well she went out this morning and came back in all by herself so the step seems to have helped!

That's great! Glad you can go away with peace of mind
