Can I transition a 12 year old from dry to wet?

Hello all,

You may have seen on my other thread that I adopted a 12 year old cat this week.

She only seems, so far, to want to eat dry food plus maybe a little ham and tuna.

She's a bit overweight at 5kg.

I'd prefer to get her onto a diet that's at least partially wet food. I tried KatKin but so far she hasn't touched that. I even tried Tesco wet food but no interest.

Any thoughts? Is this a fight I may not win at her age?

Thanks

I've an 18 year old rescue who has only ever been on dried food. She has not been herself since Thursday and I realised that she hadn't eaten or drank throughout Friday and some of yesterday so ended up trying wet food until we go to the vets tomorrow
I tried Sheba in gravy but blended it with some water so she could almost drink it. So far seems to be working and she quite likes the change of diet. Did try tuna flakes but they weren't successful. I think it is trial and error but definitely worth a try.

Thanks @ThisMerryLurker I had an 18 year old die of kidney disease earlier this year. I found Purina Hydracare (gravy basically) a godsend to get hydration into her. Lik-e-lix was also amazing for getting meds down her throat. Indeed, the day she stopped wolfing that down was the day I knew it was over. All the best for the vet visit. :-(
