Kitten sisters... not pooing yet?

Hi all. I've never had cats before but after being pestered by my kids we've adopted two sisters who are nine weeks old. I will try to attach a pic!

I brought them home yesterday evening and showed them the litter trays several times. I've seen them hopping in and out of them but cannot see anything in them. One tray has clumping litter and the other paper-type litter as I wasn't sure which to choose!

Is it normal for them to not have pooed yet? I've been hunting the house in case they're doing it elsewhere but haven't seen (or smelt!) anything yet!

Yes, don't worry! It can take a while for them to use the litter tray ☺️

They are adorable! It can take a while for them to use the litter tray. Penelope has held on for 48 hours before!

How old are they? Very young kittens may need help. Mummy cat would lick their butt to encourage them but a human career can use a ball of wet cotton wall to rub them. (Your kittens look past this stage but just in case…).

Thanks everyone. They've now "been" a few times (in the clumping tray every time)!

Oooh - double trouble naughty Torties! They are adorable, and look like they will be very floofy when they grow up.

Just be a little careful of clumping litter with kittens, as they may try to eat the clumps! Always worth checking with the breeder/rescue what type of litter they were on there & start with that. Same with food, as sudden changes of diet can cause the squits.
