Does an effective prescription tablet to treat fleas exist?

DCat HATES having her flea spot on treatment (Advocate) applied. It’s been getting progressively more difficult each month - now she associates wherever she was treated in the house and any treat we give her before or after with the treatment and won’t go near them for a good week after. Plus she is really miserable and mopes around (she seems to have forgotten just how bad it was when she turned up on our doorstep last summer, flea-ridden, and infested the house).

On the other hand, she is a dustbin and I am certain we’d have no trouble getting her to eat a tablet. Does such a thing as an effective prescription tablet to treat fleas exist? Google is surprisingly unhelpful.

TIA

Yes. Put it on the floor with a couple of dreamies and watch it disappear as if by magic. 24 hours later any fleas have gone.

Credelio.

Agree with Credelio. Our cat hoovers it up once a month with no issues. Works brilliantly.

Amazing! That is exactly what I wanted to read, thank you! Will get onto the vet.

(DCat is currently hiding upstairs following this evening’s treatment, probably calling the RSPCA. She shot me a look of pure loathing before she disappeared).

i third Credelio. Works really well and treats ticks. Our cat doesn’t just eat it though, she did the first month but then not after that. We hide it in Lick e lix. Sometimes takes a couple of goes of hiding it (in one session) but she always eats it. Much easier than the spot on which she hated and which required a 2 person military operation with DH wearing gauntlets!

Advocate causes a huge reaction from my cat - 24 hrs of complete fury.

We have switched to Bravecto which is every three months and he hardly bats an eyelid.

I’ve been paying monthly for the past two years and never collected it as my cats won’t go near a carrier and I’ve been really ill walking with a stick. The vet won’t release it without seeing them. I’m trying to think of what else I can use.

Like others have said Credelio which I buy from Atlantic pets. I crush it between two spoons and put some lic a lix over it cat then eats from the spoon.

Go on Atlantic pets website. I have been using it for last few years and it's been great.

Credelio! We used to hide it in a little bit of minced beef. Ours is a lil flea bag so we also have to be vigilant each summer - constant combing and then treating everywhere with the sprays.

Returning to this thread to say thanks again for the Credelio recommendation. We’ve been using it with DCat for 9 months now. No fleas and no hassle. It’s like night and day!

On a similar theme, can highly recommend Milpro as a worming tablet. DCat (a prolific hunter) happily scoffs her half tablet every 3 months.

Agree with Milpro but that's been a recent discovery for us. Both have been life savers (and hands and sanity 😂)

Try Credelio on your Husband first , or the neighbour
