Anyone treated a cat UTI at home?

Pretty sure that's what we have here.... Had previously posted about cat peeing on the doormat, and I think we cured that. No problems for over a month, but then this week he's gone wild and is peeing every. Looks like a classic UTI, according to Google. He's not upset or stressed, very purry as usual, playful, and smiley. Wondered about trying an over the counter treatment before consulting vet. Anyone had any success with this?

If passing urine, but small amounts I would try increasing water intake. 98% of urinary signs in cats have no bacterial involvement.

Male cat UTI are often the cause of an environment that may need tweaking, ensure plenty of hiding spaces cardboard boxes up turned with a hole cut in the side and the like, maybe put some up high lots of litter trays feliway plug in they have advice on there website too and wet food, do keep a very close eye though as passing small amounts of urine could be bladder over flow a blocked bladder can be fatal, cat behaviour is very subtle and upset cat can be hard to spot sometimes.

We used a cranberry paste for cystitis in our cats. One of my boys use to get a lot. We just squirt some on their food randomly, was also advised not too much fish flavoured cat food.

My vet told me that UTIs in tom cats can develop into urethral obstructions and cause bladder rupture, so should be treated by a vet very promptly.

We had one who nearly had a complete obstruction. I wouldn’t hesitate to go to the vet.

Ok thanks. I bought some bits from Pets at Home today as vets shut but will call them first thing.

There is always someone on call, might not be your vet
Small amounts of pee is very concerning as it can be obstruction.
Vet asap

There will be a local emergency vet.
