Hard pea sized lump on cats tummy, anyone any experience?

It feels hard, almost bony. Doesn’t seem to bother her too much when I touch it.
about the size of a pea.
would you go to the vet with the associated cost, or watch and wait to see if it gets bigger/goes away given she’s well in herself and it doesn’t seem to bother her?
does it sound like it could be Breast cancer? Anyone any experience of this?
she is 3 years old and is spayed.

editing to add that I think it’s new/recent as she went to the vet for her annual check about 3 weeks ago

I would take her to vets. They'll either rule it out straight away as something not to worry about or remove & biopsy.

If you have insurance you should be covered

Thank you
i do have insurance but there’s an excess so the appointments won’t be covered

Have you ruled out that it could be a tick?

I'd get it checked out, or at least call your vet for a chat. Pea-sized is too big for a nipple, for instance, so I think you should get her seen.

My cat has similar and it turned out to be mammary cancer.
Lump & some surrounding tissue was removed last year and all appears well at present.
Not saying your cat has the same but I would recommend that you get it checked out.
They first thought it was a cyst but biopsy came back as cancer.
My cat is 10 years old.

A couple of family members/experienced cat owners are saying leave it, see if it grows, but I think I should take her as sounds like there’s a chance it could be cancer ☹️

Our make cat had a lump when he was around 7 years old, on his chest, not near a nipple it was removed, biopsy showed it wasn't cancer and he's been fine since
I would do it (I think it cost around £300 no insurance)

I would take her . I found lumps on my middle aged cat's tum and was a bit blasé about it thinking it was like fatty lumps in dogs.

Apparently not so common in cats. Vet took it v seriously but thankfully all OK.

Recently my dcat had bony type lumps on her back, one on the side and one near her tail. We were really concerned as she wouldn't really let us touch them and imagined all sorts, especially as they were so hard ! Anyway she kind of sorted them herself unbeknown to us and when we took her to the vets she thought maybe it had been an abcess from a fight or injury. It had clearly gotten uncomfortable for her and she had umm, bitten it, groomed it, till it burst 😬But worth a visit for peace of mind to be honest.
