Went to a rescue re homing day and fell in love!
Cat tax attached.
Owned cats as a child, but any advice happily received. He seems content, explored quite a bit of the house so far and had a wee in the litter tray and some biscuits and a drink. We haven't bought a bed as I thought we would wait and see what kind of sleeping arrangements His Majesty would like best.

We bought this for my (rescue) cat and even though it cost £12 and is cardboard, she absolutely loves it and I have no idea why!

Picture would help!

I got my girl a cardboard bed as well and she loves it. I assume it’s sensory? Zeus is gorgeous! I love how confident he is. Xx

Emmy has a few cardboard flat & incline scratch boards, plus a cardboard sofa & cat face, loads on Amazon, some are expensive, but last a while, & then can be recycled.

Cardboard boxes are warm. One of mine always sleeps in a box. The one that the veg gets delivered in is the perfect size and we just replace it every now and again.

Zeus is absolutely beautiful, well done for adopting. Really loved all the other cat pics too!

@ElleLeopine he's 6, they think. Brought in as a stray a while ago, then fostered out.
I have ordered a Furminator and a normal long hair cat brush. Arriving tomorrow. We will groom him I promise!

@TravellingIncognito that is amazing advice, thank you! We have 4 weeks insurance from the rescue, so will do some research into insurance to take over from the plan that's in place.

@Pixiedust1234 so you'd feed two pouches for breakfast and two for dinner? I will try that and check with vets next week when he has his jab. He does wolf down his pouch at breakfast and dinner time!

Crinkly tunnels. As big as you have space for (they collapse down). My cat has been playing with hers for years and they are a good hiding place!

congratulations!!!

No sorry. One in morning, one in evening, and biscuits to graze on. But she was half the size of Zeus (very petite). Keep feeding him the same as the fosterer until you see your own vet. They will advise if he's overweight or just extra fluffy.

EDIT - reread your post ahaha - yes, just do what fosterer did until vet says otherwise. She also couldn't tolerate cat brushes/combs so I tried a rabbit brush on her, she loved the rabbit brush so much that she would roll over so we could do the other side. Just a tip in case your cat decides to be a tinker about being brushed.
