My cat's a fighter not a lover

I have two male cats, Boris and George. They are both neutered and are 11yrs old. Both are gorgeous and totally chilled out softies, apart from one thing about George.

Just after lockdown, another neutered male, Alan, moved in across the road, and George does not like Alan at all. They are constantly stalking each other, yowling at each other, and scrapping. George comes home covered in bite marks and wounds. Alan is the same.

None of the boys would be happy as indoor cats. Are we stuck waiting for him to get too old be arsed with all this or is there anything we can do to make George less of a scrapper?

Also, it's costing a fucking fortune at the vets, any recommendations for antiseptics that are good for bite wounds.

Picture of George, so you can see what a total hard man he is

Oh he’s just gorgeous!

CLX wipes are amazing for wounds, you can get them from Amazon these days, I used to pay a fortune at the vets for them!

growing up we had a particularly vicious emotionally damaged male siamese. he fought humans rather than people (mainly the males in my family) and would draw blood - A LOT. We ended up getting him injected a couple of times with female hormones to chill him out. It really helped (but I can't remember for how long each time)

Not sure that's what you need with George though - he seems to be generally chilled already.

As for everyone recommending cat proofing - It's not suitable for every garden or house - my cat is a brilliant climber and I've had quotes for £3-£4.5K to get my (tiny!) garden cat proofed to keep her in. It would also look really horrible, not just for me but for neighbours on all sides as we are very much all rather on top of each other (Fortunately it's not necessary where we are) But it's not the solution for everyone.
