8 month old kitten jumps on everyones beds at 5 am meowing or pouncing on feet etc
I've shut daughter's door but 🐱 pushes open. Does anyone know if they grow out of this? We are all exhausted 😩 or any tips even?

We've always shut cats downstairs for the night so they don't do this.

Can you get a cat feeder that opens early morning so kitty can feed?

We shut ours away at night. They have the utility and large porch so have beds, cat flap, litter tray, food and water, and scratching post. Otherwise mine sits on my head.

We had to do with our previous cats too. It was only once they were older that they stopped waking us up.

You have to start getting up at 5am to adore your fuzzy overlord.

Cats have an in built alarm clock. Ours are set to half five. It's worse in the spring summer when the birds start to sing. You either lock them out of the sleeping areas and miss out on cat cuddles which are one of life's joys. Or accept you need to feed them on demand.

One of my little treasures actually licks your eyelids if you try to ignore him.

On the upside, after Sunday it will be waking you at 6am.

We've always shut our cats downstairs at night for precisely this reason.

They have access to food, water and their litter trays as well as toys and lots of beds etc. to choose from. We never hear a thing.

However if the kitten is used to having free range and to getting your attention easily then you may have a battle on your hands at first!

Close door properly, cats aren't that strong. I never let dcat into the bedroom due to my allergies anyway

Mine can open doors, and she isn't quiet about it. She yowels, hangs off the the handle and scrabbles.

Tell that to my cats - they can definitely open doors. We had to swap to round door handles Grin

He's lonely and worried that you're dead because cats don't sleep for so long. Mine tend to check up on me at 3 am and they're always delighted to see that I'm still alive. Think you might need to accept that you're now up, or at least cat stroking and playing, at 5 am.

Thanks gang. Ive just watched Jackson Galaxy on YouTube. He said completely ignore or I am reinforcing behaviour. Thanks for all your tips I'm going to go through them now, it's not even food she wants, she wants to play! 😬
