Cat meowing early to go out

The cat has recently started to wake up early and meow to be let out. How can I stop/change it?

She didn’t seem as bad as this last year when it got lighter.

Mine is the opposite. She has a cat flap with access from the kitchen . She chooses to go out at night but at 6 am will start screeching under our bedroom window to be fed. It drives me absolutely crazy. I can’t keep her in most of the time as she wants out just as we go to bed and I can’t get her to come back in. I often go down , lure her in and lock the cat flap . I don’t feed her until I get up. It’s an exhausting war.

We have an automatic cat feeder with timed feeds - might help?

I tell mine when I go to bed "lie in tomorrow". It usually works but when I get up at 5.45am to go to work twice a week he quietly meows me awake at 5.35am. Those few minutes sleep before you wake up with the alarm are spoilt.

Yep mine is now doing this. Happens every year as the mornings get lighter. The clocks going forward will help for a bit. I get up and let him out.
