Where are my cats getting fleas from?!

I have 4 INDOOR cats. The first two arrived with fleas but I'd treated them before they even came in the house and I bathed them.

We've had them 8 months ish.

They're treated monthly, they don't go outside. We have no other pets.

We had an issue with lice a few months ago that took ages to get rid of becuase I thought they were fleas and was using the wrong stuff. Got the right stuff, lice were gone.

Less than a month later I see a definite flea on one of their faces. Treat them all. We took them with us to a renovation were doing and treated the whole house with the brutal bug stuff. There should be no fleas in the house or on the cats. It's been 2 weeks since we got back and they've all got flea dirt on them.

I haven't seen a flea yet but they're all fluffy and wriggly but there is definite flea dirt on them all.

What the hell is happening?!

They could be being brought in by household members. My sister has outdoor cats who perpetually have fleas (she does treat them but with cheap, supermarket shit).

I was always finding fleas on my cats after visiting her house. Spraying Indorex on shoes and socks before visiting her helped a lot.

Ooh, good tip.
I've brought fleas in, from a house I have to visit for work (home care).
I spent a fortune on Imdorex, 2 months ago, then spotted a live one on my duvet, several days ago.
I'm pretty sure I must have taken them into my car.
I took a flea comb to work, and got about 10, plus loads of bloody dirt, off of the suspected cat, yesterday, before it legged it.
I will take the half a tin of Imdorex I have left, and keep it in the car.
It's always my last visit of the day, so my uniform goes straight in to the wash. I can't really wash and dry my shoes daily, though.
Ugh.

Cat fleas don't always stay on the cat, they can live outside in shady, damp areas or in your house for months without a host. We have loads of cats round here and you can lift something in the garden and see fleas jumping around. Every time you enter your house you could be bringing in more fleas. You need to keep flea-treating your indoor cats once you get on top of this current infestation.

Someone else has already said they had to do it, so I am suggesting you may need to get the house professionally treated if Indorex spray does not work once you've tried it.

Some local authorities will offer this in their pest control services otherwise it will need to be a private pest control company.
