Litter robot £100 off at John Lewis

I have two Maine coons just coming up to one year old and producing waste commensurate with their size. I have been in two minds about the litter robot since I got them. John Lewis is now stocking it and they have £100 off a home spend of over £100 that it qualifies for. Set it up on Friday night and they both started using it the same night. I am so thrilled with it. It was a lot of money (made less painful by having a lot of John Lewis vouchers so didn't feel like real money) but so far feels like it's going to be worth it!
Just thought I'd post in case the ability to deal with a U.K. retailer plus decent discount made up anyone else's mind!

Hi. How have you saved on litter? Why does it use so much less than a normal litter box

My cats are Maine coons so had big litter trays which took a lot of litter to fill. The robot takes less litter at once.
I tended to scoop quite a lot of extra litter out with every scoop whereas this literally does not waste a grain that isn’t actually clumped on.
When I empty and jet wash the litter tray at the weekend I throw a lot less away then too.

Thanks. Trying to justify getting this but I don’t think we waste that much litter so probably a no-go!

Saving litter wasn’t what motivated me originally and I’m surprised it’s made a noticeable difference. I was very sceptical that cats would use it, that it would work etc. It took me ages to make the decision to get it as it seemed so extravagant but it honestly has been so lovely to own. I was scooping multiple times per day and it was hard to keep on top of between work calls, this is always sorted with practically no effort on my part.

Hey we have 5 cats (three go outside so don't always do their business in the litter tray). Our problem is the smell even cleaning ours twice a day. Does this reduce odour significantly?

@HomelyK Yes. Cannot smell it at all. Because it’s never left to fester. Cat does its business and it’s cleaned within minutes even if you’re not home. And I don’t think I’m deluded about the smell of my house lol. My cat is a bit anti social and I’ve had frequent visitors express genuine surprise that we even have a cat, because they hadn’t realised the first few times they came over. Also my mum is a clean freak and would definitely tell me!
