What’s your litter tray routine?

I scoop it daily removing all solids supervised by her majesty. She will wake up from
a nap just to watch me. I even have a special litter bin for it.

I then do a whole change monthly. It works well for us and I don’t detect any nasty smells

Take clumping lumps out asap and put in a nappy sack for disposal. Empty the whole litter tray, liner included, every weekend and put in a new liner and litter.

Mine only uses hers occasionally as she mostly goes outside. I use Intersand which lasts forever, check for poo and wee clumps daily, remove when I see them, and change the whole thing when the level gets too low.

I've got a mini galvanised dustbin outside the porch where I deposit the bagged litter spoils, and put them in the main bin when it goes out for collection.

Same here. Although mine goes into poo hands and into the kitchen bin. I apparently do not require supervision though.

I used to scoop poo as soon as I found it and wee was scooped morning and evening. We topped up when necessary and rarely changed the whole lot and it never smelt. Of course once the topping up was done His Lordship then had to christen the fresh litter!

Every week? Must cost you a fortune in litter.

I have this bin which I’m quite chuffed with tbh.

I believe that's what is recommended.

I line the tray with a sheet of newspaper then litter tray liner, then a full sheet of newspaper followed by a half scoop of litter.I use Catsan in the blue bag.He doesn't use it very often, but as soon as he does I empty the lot bag newspaper and litter in the bin, by tying the liner by the corners.
I couldn't bear to have it any other way.The tray stays clean so I just wash once a week.

I have two indoor cats and use the Catsan that comes in the liners that you just pop in and ‘unzip’.

Previously I used cheap litter, tray liners and Felight and changed them twice a week.

Catsan costs me about £10 a month more but I only have to do a full change about every ten days - it’s so much easier, quicker, cleaner and less smelly.

My routine involves making DH do it Grin

I had one cat who always went outside except she needed to mark a clean litter bin. I used to keep one fossilized poo there and she was very happy with the arrangement. Never managed to convince any subsequent cats to go outside as much.
