Little cat not herself

I think my cat was involved in a fight Tuesday night, I didn't hear anything but yesterday morning when I came down she was looking a bit bedraggled with some clumps of fur coming out and looking anxiously outside.

I checked her as best I could and couldn't find any punctures or scratches and she's not limping but she's just not herself at all. She's only eaten a few mouthfuls of food since yesterday, although gladly ate the lik e lix I offered her. She not come for cuddles as she usually would and is just staying in her bed, seems very lethargic. She doesn't feel hot and I can't see or feel any swellings on her.

I guess I'll ring vet tomorrow if there's no improvement but just wondering if anyone can offer any advice now?

So sad seeing her like this.

The vet is probably the best call. I would keep her warm and snuggled with lots of reassuring fuss. If lik e lix is what she will eat - then feed her it. Better something over nothing. Maybe her mouth has had some teeth knocked? Sounds as if she has been in a fight of some sort. Give a litter tray and keep her in until she’s better. Hopefully that will be soon.

We had a cat who would be low for a couple days after a fight, just from the trauma I think. She developed an absess on her paw once from a wound which was nasty and made her very unwell and she needed antibiotics.

You could try some warm roast chicken or some tuna to see if you can stimulate her appetite. Definitely get her seen if she continues not to eat. Hope she's feeling better soon x

She could easily be brewing an abscess. Or feeling hurt - both physically and feelings.

My immediate thought is an abscess too. Get it looked at sooner rather than later - untreated they can turn very expensive.

Update.... She appeared in the kitchen last night before I went to bed after a whole day of hiding in her bed (it's up on a shelf) and had a bowl of dry food with some lick e lix on. She then came and got into bed with me which is much more normal behaviour! This morning she was waiting for breakfast as normal so I'll keep an eye on her but she seems much more herself. I think she was maybe in shock?

its possible. I think anyone (we are all animals) would be in shock if they were attacked. Keep a close eye on her and keep her in. You know her best as to wether she is getting better or deteriorating.

nice to read that she does seem to be on the mend. Eating is always a good sign.

That's great. It does sound like she was just feeling upset by the fight, bless her heart.
it makes you wonder why on earth they fight so viciously. I wish my cat and the neighbourhood cats would just call a truce and have a nice time chilling out together 😆
