Has anyone insured their cat through Admiral?

Just looking at quotes and theirs seems good value for the cover level I'm considering, in comparison to others, for example Tesco and Petplan (the latter is very expensive).

I'm just wondering what the claim process is like with them.

If any one has any feedback I'd be very grateful. (Rex would be too but he's currently asleep on the windowsill above the radiator).

We have one cat with Admiral and I regret it. They don't cover dental treatment. My cat had stomatitis and needed an almost full mouth of extractions at 1 year old. They wouldn't cover it despite being a medical condition that required the dental work. I can't really insure him elsewhere now as he's had an eye condition which they did (eventually) pay for.

If it is significantly cheaper than, e.g. Petplan, there will be a reason for it. Either you may end up paying a higher percentage of claims, or cover will be more limited. Make sure any comparison is genuinely like for like, they are good at concealing things you haven't thought about in the small print.

My cats are insured with Petplan and Agria, and I've found they are both fair, and quick to settle claims. I agree it's expensive though, especially when they get to about 7 or 8 when the premiums start to rack up.

Edit - I just saw the previous post re dental treatment. One of my cats, who is insured with Agria, had to have dental treatment two months ago (multiple extractions, cost over £500). Agria do cover dental, and they paid up within 7 days.

Not many policies will cover dental. I'm with Tesco who
Have been excellent.

No experience here I'm afraid. I haven't had my two insured since the prices shot up. We were with HealthyPets.

We put money aside for them every month instead should anything happen or come up. They're 10 years old in March and are in pretty good health.
