Best kitten food for weight gain

My little guy is 5 months old. He's been unwell with mycoplasma infection which has given him respiratory illness (like a cat flu) and an eye infection. He seems almost better now thank goodness but the vet is a little concerned that he's not gaining weight. She wants to see him again in a week and if no gain by then he'll need further investigation. Obviously I want to avoid that if possible. So I wanted to ask hive mind. Which food is best for kittens? At the moment he's eating Felix kitten sachet in the morning, he has Purina biscuits available all day and then he has Felix adult food for dinner (just because his companion cat is an adult and he seems to prefer her food) but I wonder if he maybe just doesnt eat enough. What can I give him to tempt him? They had tuna this evening which he loved but I know they shouldn't eat that very often BC of the mercury so I don't want to make a habit of that. Anything too good to resist?

You could get him "Hills Science for kittens".

When I got my cat he was also 5 months and would be limping often, one leg one week and other leg another week. Took him to the vet and she said that while kitten we had to feed him "good/expensive" food because he needed the nutrients more than ever. He got Hills for kitten and now he's a very big strong cat. He didn't get sick again of the limping.

Now that he's an adult, I'm buying him much cheaper food.

If you want him to gain weight quicker, you can give him "Hills A/D wet food". This is given for cats recovering after a surgery to gain weight. I used to give to another older cat I had when she was losing weight.

Kitten food is more calorific than adult food so in an ideal world he should stay on that if he's underweight.

I would be feeding him little and often - half a pouch of food 5-6 times a day would be ideal if he's underweight.

The brand isn't really that important as long as he's eating.
