Dragging leg and odd behaviour

My gorgeous boy usually loves being inside, but over the past few days has been unsettled and going straight to the back door after eating wanting to go back out.
He came in before I left for work, all fine so left him in, his bed, toys and litter tray are all in the kitchen so I leave him in there to avoid the sofa being scratched.
Only gone a few hours so he usually just sleeps (peep using my camera🤣).
Came home today and he stayed in his bed rather than walking to the door when I came in. He then stretched out but I could tell instantly one leg wasn't right. He walked off, didn't even go to his bowl. Was sort of dragging/holding one leg funny, but managed to walk into the living room, jump onto the sofa and then walk upstairs where he jumped up onto our bed and went back to sleep.
This was a few hours ago, have just been up to check as was hoping it was just numb/gone to sleep and he was stood up on the bed still holding his leg up.
What could he have possibly done in four hours contained in a kitchen?!

He might have had a fight when outside and now has an abscess, they take time to develop and can present like this. Time to see the vet.

He might have had a seizure.

Given his recent change in behaviour as well, I'd take him for a checkup at the vets.

Will he be ok overnight? Will obviously keep him in but my vets is shut.

If he's not showing any signs of being in pain or distress he should be fine overnight.

If it was a seizure he'll probably just want to sleep.

Has he gone up on the kitchen worktops , jumped down and landed badly? Can you see on your CatCam if he's been climbing or tell-tale pawprints ?

If it's a bite/wound/abcess is he licking or grooming his leg? Our old cat had an irritation on her belly and groomed alll the fur off and gave herself what the Vet called a 'lick granuloma'

Have a look at the colour of the pads on all his feet. Leg weakness could be a blood clot in the pelvis. The affected foot would be paler and cooler than the others. It's an emergency if so.

Oh no 😔

Healthy paw for comparison

Hes tolerating me touching both back paws (as much as he ever does, he's not a huge fan) and doesn't seem to be in pain at all. Just been laid next to him stroking him and he was purring away like crazy and rolled into his back for belly rubs. Did stand up but was still holding that leg very gingerly. Just seems so strange, I wish he could talk to me 😭

They can injure themselves really easily. I know cats who have broken legs by landing awkwardly or slipping and falling.

Definitely get him to the vets in the morning but if he's otherwise happy then he should be fine overnight.
