Hi all. My cats on royal canin wet food. He rarely eats dry.

Can advise if royal canin is better than purina? He has a sensitively stomach and diarrhea after campylobacter. The vet recommended royal canin. But not sure if it's vest or just because they get commission therefore recommend it?

Many thanks

Vets do not get commission on any pet food and never have. It is an urban myth.
Royal canin and Purina gastrointestinal are equal and we used them both in the clinic.

Thank you! @Lonecatwithkitten do you prefer one over the other?

My cat likes the Royal Canin one.

We are using Royal canin at the moment. But some days he won't touch it.

@BatshitCrazyWoman my own cats prefer purina, but I have used both foods in the past.

Maybe I should get some purina? Mix them for a bit then see if he will take the purina?

My cat needs special urinary food and we buy the Purina - it's much cheaper and seems to do exactly the same thing. He really likes it too which is a bonus Grin

Apart from one cat who is a dustbin in cat form, mine have always refused to eat any food designed for their health issues.

It's worth experimenting but as always with cats, as soon as you buy a lot of it, they'll decide they are never eating it again.
