Anyone with a cat on a hyperallgenic diet?

My vet has instructed me to keep my 2 year old Persian chinchilla on a hyperallgenic diet for 3 months. It looks like rice Krispies and the ingredients are bizarre - soy protein and god knows what other stuff.
But I've tried literally everything else and she still gets diharrera once a month.
I think she was ok before she went into the garden (secured , enclosed) she was a complete escape artist, couldn't keep her in.

How long has your cat been on a hyperallgenic diet? Do they get constipation from it ?
Thank you

Not hypoallergenic, but my Persian has a very sensitive tummy. And was vomiting most days. I worked out that she is grain, and possibly chicken intolerant. I found some reasonably priced grain free food. And it's really helped her.

Not a cat, but I know dogs on diets like this and they do end up staying on them for life.

Yes mine. Ok with biscuits but loves wet food and that is a problem The proper vet ones he won’t touch and the ‘ naturally hypoallergenic’ stuff is hit and miss. All costing a fortune and about one third getting binned. He is 16 and stubborn but adore him. Only that helps is pre and pro biotic powder. Otherwise poo is too runny and smell the house out. Keep a check on his weight and luckily stable.
Currently incapussatated, as he has taken a shine to my/ our heated throw.

Mine was.

He had the vet food for 3 months and then we started the food elimination process. It takes a long time but is worth it to find out what causes the problem.

We still use single protein wet cat food from Zoo Plus. Feringa and Animonda Carny do small cans.

Worked out he is allergic to chicken, white fish and all grains.

My own cat has been on purina HA hydrolysed diet for the last 6 years to control both her skin disease and her IBD.
She is more than happy on it all disease is controlled and she looks great. Recently she has been supplementing it with the occasional mouse head ( only the head nothing else).

Ah, thank you everyone for your replies. I don't feel so worried now hearing that others are on it for the long haul.
Toddlerteaplease which one do you use ?
Mumsgirls sounds like mine !

My cat is on royal canin hypoallergenic diet. He seems to be going well on it.

Mine was on the Royal Canin hypoallergenic for maybe four years, with regular doses of prednisone. About five years ago she started losing weight again (we think she has IBD but extensive tests didn't give a clear diagnosis) and the vets suggested the anallergenic food, which I think had just come on the market, instead. She's done very well on that, she weighs more than she ever used to (a little over 4kg) and she is off the prednisone. The only bad thing is how much the stuff costs!
