More midday nap time

Just been told I am A Bad Cat Slave.

Due to the shortage not been able to get my ADHD meds for 2 months now, which has screwed up my sleep big time. Woke up at about 4am this morning & gave up watching recordings on the TV in bed due to the need for tea & came downstairs.

2 rather unhappy looking cats uncurled themselves, came out of their bedroom and followed me down with "what the feck are you doing" looks on their faces, gave me their "not been fed for days" looks (last meal was 8pm, next not due until at least 7am) and stomped back upstairs like sulky teenagers.

On the good news front - I HAVE MEDS! Because it's been so long without I'm being started back with a week on a lower dose, first one yesterday, so it will be as little while before I'm back to normal (or as close to normal as I ever get) but even on the first day back yesterday I could feel the difference in my focus. Which is A Good Thing, as I'm in the middle of one of my very busy times at work that requires focus and churning work out at a high rate - which I've been failing to do recently due to un-medicated Butterfly-Tigger brain.

Oh my gosh Rum. I’m late to the party but my heart skipped a beat when I saw he was missing! I’m so so glad he’s home!

Argh. No story at all.
I discovered I had been logged out, and when I tried to log back in, it said that my user name no longer existed.

That's what happens when they ban you. So I emailed MNHQ to ask what I'd done to be banned and they didn't answer back till yesterday.

I've had temporary bans before (due to comments on FWR) but I couldn't figure out what I'd posted on Saturday to cause a ban.

I emailed a further twice before they answered. They were very apologetic and said it had been a mistake, and human error, and that I could log in again now.

So here I am!

@Allergictoironing I bet you're glad to get your meds again. That shortage caused misery throughout the land.

Poor little Munchkin has been to the vets for vaccinations today. They also took her temperature after I mentioned the D&V, and it was raised, but that could also have been the stress of the whole experience. She is now under the bed and I don't expect to see her for a while - going out tonight anyway so she has some space to recover. I half expect to find a turd on my pillow when I get back.

Oh dear, @twobluechickens I hope Munchkin perks up soon.

Thank you 🐾 I'm sure she'll come around eventually. She was so scared, it was heartbreaking. I've heard her eating and using the tray so fingers crossed.

Heavier than Matt at 8.9kg or around 19 and a half pounds?

It's like Ollie reincarnated in a younger bigger body. He gives paws the exact same side eye, follows him about and if he thinks he's doing something wrong then he chirps for me to come and see

I got banned once for telling a true story and being reported as a fantasist.

All forgiven and she's snoozing next to me which is fab. Went to a friend's tonight and met the delectable Clark, a chunky gunmetal grey boy with velvety paws.

Velvet slept on my pillow today! She’s absolutely not up for cuddles and squeaks at being lifted and carried so that was a huge sign of trust from her. I love my little cat. Hopefully I’m justified in calling her mine as she’s spending most of her time with me. My mother is very jealous and my sister is visiting from France in a few days, so I’m a bit anxious she’ll go for the better company (Mr N really belonged to them and I’m a little anxious Velvet might). But I’m absolutely in love with little Velvet and she’s been an angel today! She might get an extra hug before my bedtime as well. What a lovely girl :) sorry not to respond to all the stories - the ones about throwing another cat out of the window are a bit surprising - but just wanted to share the Velvet love :)

I didn’t put an image today. Here is the naughty one stealing Dreamies! She’s worked out which cupboard they’re in but she’s only getting them when she comes home safe from her next roaming expedition outdoors.

@Allergictoironing same here! Although for a long time my friend used to come round loads, this was basically his second house. Some of the cats preferred him. He only comes over once in a blue moon now and the cats who used to love him best all hide 🤣

Frankie has a box that's been his for two days. This morning Toad decided he was sharing it. I'm trying to teach him about consent but he doesn't care.

Frankie has a very apt expression! Sort of “I don’t like this but I’m very noble and long-suffering so I’ll just pretend it’s not happening”. How did Toad get his name? I bet there’s a great backstory :)

Some witches had black cats as familiars, and some had toads. He is one, so was named after another.

That’s so interesting! Even if it’s not Toad’s actual backstory it should be now. Witches are awesome. The Master of the Cambridge college I frequented had a dog, but only cats were allowed to live in the lodge. No problem though, the dog was just deemed a cat.
