Calling all cats and their overworked slaves - join us as we grudgingly accept that every day is National Cat Day as far as our moggies are concerned.

@TheShellBeach Mr N used to play a game where he meowed to be let out at the back door (we had a catflap but he was quite arthritic by then) and then he’d run to the front door which has a huge pane of glass and meow to be let in. I used to call myself his “door slave” an actual job in Ancient Rome because I spent so much time doing this.

TheShellBeach · 10/11/2023 15:32

So after the debacle with regard to the non-appearance of my Curry's order, they had the cheek to send me a text asking me to rate my delivery out of ten.

I gave them 0.

Wankers.

Then they sent a text asking why I'd scored the delivery so low...........so I pointed out that they hadn't actually delivered anything.

What was that complaint reference number again?

Hmm

Karl is on lap warming duty this evening (and he is very welcome)

Haha, we had a cat who could quell the enthusiasm of an exuberant Labrador with a single glance! We were dog-sitting and the cat just looked at him from the top of the stairs and the dog went and hid! The fireworks hadn’t even started yet…

🤣🤣🤣

This thread is an absolute joy! Even the stuff about litter trays (and after all, we are on The Litter Tray board), especially as I don't have to empty one these days. NMC enticement is on hold at the moment, but NMCs ones on here have given me many a chuckle this eveningSmile

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 10/11/2023 22:25

Mrs Grumpy is monopolising the cats again.

Wonderful photo @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats ! Can Mrs Grumpy actually breathe through that furry face mask?

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 10/11/2023 23:36

The furry face mask has moved down Mrs Grumpy' body and has pushed Basil off her lap.
Pleased to report that Mrs Grumpy is definitely still breathing 😄.

Defiantlynot41 · 10/11/2023 23:41

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats when our old cat used to climb on your chest to take prime position above the lap cat, it was known as double-deckering. I miss him

CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau · 11/11/2023 00:09

Not as lighthearted as usual on this thread but miss Velvet has been super brave tonight. Proud of her and I wanted to share with the litter tray community which is awesome. Might go and have a little extra cuddle before bed.

CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau · 11/11/2023 00:11

@Defiantlynot41 sorry you’ve lost your little friend. He’s either sleeping or frolicking in cat heaven though.

If you zoom in and see the look of disgust on Sybil's face that MrsG is ruffling her fur I think it's safe to say she's breathing.

Probably not very well though 😂

Excellent photos of Mr & Mrs G with their mobile warming systems. It should really be 2 cats each.

Phoebe is very beautiful @Catsmere, as are the Ballet Cats who live up to their glamorous names.

Congratulations to Velvet on her bravery.

Benny has grown @coastergirl! He is still looking very kitteny though.

I'm sure TC would be willing to come and be a furry face mask for @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats

nettie434 · 11/11/2023 10:46

😄😄 I know TC's Dad has posted photos of TC curled up in his lap so we know he can be a lap cat but I would not want to be the person moving TC so I could make a cup of tea or go to the loo!

coastergirl · 11/11/2023 15:07

@nettie434 he's just coming up to six months old, but the consensus is that he's going to be enormous! He's very big already. So sweet though.

CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau · 11/11/2023 16:33

@coastergirl how much does he weigh? He looks like a well-built, solid fellow already and I’m always on the lookout for somecat who can beat Mr N’s fit and slim shorthair weight of 7kg!

Supersimkin2 · 11/11/2023 16:41

Mrs Grumpy for Mumsnet Woman of The Year.

How Cool is this Cat Mum.

I've passed on your message. Mrs Grumpy"s response was
'Thank you - but really it's just another day in the office' 😁

Supersimkin2 · 11/11/2023 18:19

Told you Mrs G is bad-ass.

TemporaryCatSlave · 11/11/2023 21:11

Furry feline knee heating device (aka Rex) thoroughly approves of the the new pure wool sofa throw. Less impressed at being woken up for a photo opportunity. I have apologised, naturally.

@CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau I'm not sure how much he weighs. Walter is 4.9kg and a chunky boy, and I don't think Benny is that far behind!

Here they are side by side on the sofa tonight.
