Why doesn't girl cat ever stomp over dh? We have 2 cats both now 13 had them since 12 months old.

Boy cat good as gold rarely wakes us up but her, I'm being driven mad.

I've been away with my work during that time she's slept next to dh all night no issues, I come home and she's mithering me every 2 hours, climbing over me, knocking things off the bedside table. I've gone downstairs and she has food, tried a different food still doesn't satisfy her.

I've shut her out she scratches the door and meows, I've covered the door she tears up the carpet and meows, I need sleep, shes always been a pain but never this bad. Can't shut her downstairs.

What is the matter with her?! Never dh always me. If I sleep in the spare room she will still sleep next to dh but find me to wake me, if she can't get in she'll meow and scratch.

Any suggestions please?

She probably missed you dreadfully and needs to wake you up to tell you?

Our beloved boy who loves DH more than anything, if I’m away he is ALL OVER ME when I get back, doing bouncing and all his fancy tricks for my attention.

Aww, she loves you and she missed you.

Because cats are arseholes sometimes Grin

Ours have never been allowed in the bedroom overnight. They get shut downstairs with everything they need. They've never destroyed carpets or woken us at 3am but then again it's what they've always known.

Can you shut both cats in another room at bedtime with everything they need? So she’s not on her own.

It may take a few weeks to adjust and the first few nights will probably be difficult but you already know she is technically capable of sleeping well at night.

Mine have always been shut in the kitchen at night.

It's our own fault, we got them as rescues they didn't have a nice time before us and so as first time cat slaves we sort of surrendered a bit too quickly.

Last night I shut her out of our bedroom, put in earplugs and left dh to sort her out. Woke up at 5am and there she was patiently waiting outside the door. I'm going to keep her out of the bedroom at night now, I had such a lovely sleep!

I have to wedge my door open a crack and it works she will sleep but pop out and in again without waking me
