Hiding places

Have just spent ten minutes in a blind panic trying to locate kitten two. They have been here just over 48 hours and I thought we had sussed all the hiding spots. He was found lurking at the back of the integrated wine rack (behind bottles of water because wine doesn't last long enough to be racked in this this house).
Where have your wee beasties taken refuge that made you wonder if they had somehow managed to escape?

😻That tiny face peeking out.

We had one who would hide between the futon frame and mattress so you had to check before you sat down in case you squashed her.

Inside a desk drawer that they had climbed into from the back of the desk through a narrow gap I didn’t know was there.

Oh bless him, when our two arrived they wedged themselves in a tiny space between a cupboard and the wall. We panicked and thought they were stuck, had to empty the whole cupboard and move it aside. One week in and they were walking about already owning the place 😂

Mine hid under the bed. Divan base with drawers, that he'd managed to claw open. He must've somehow managed to pull it shut behind as he climbed into the space between the 2 drawers. I spent ages calling him and shaking his treats. It wasn't until a few hours later I heard a feeble little miaow but couldn't quite work out where it was coming from until I shook the bag in the bedroom and realised it was coming from under the bed. He also managed to get himself completely under his blanket and lay so it looked like the blanket was just laid scrumpled on the end of the bed. That time I panicked cos he'd only just come to live back with me in my new flat ( he stayed with my exH whilst I moved back home for 18 months before getting my own place) and I letting him out. I tried to think of where he could possibly have got to and sat on the bed to put my shoes back on. Slightly touched the blanket and the blanket suddenly started moving and that sleepy little miaow they make if you wake them up suddenly came out from underneath it

Inside the sofa. It's a recliner at both ends, with a Velcro'd flap rather than a solid stitched back. So they found their way in there & hid in the recliner mechanism.

Up the chimney and behind the washing machine/skirting boards - all the same kitten and all within 48 hours 😂

One of mine was hiding somewhere deep in the kitchen units for nearly a fortnight - the little so-and-so, it transpired, had been sneaking out at midnight to eat and wee. We had just moved 200 miles and I was convinced he was gone, trying to make his way back to our old house, until I finally spotted him on the landing when I went to the loo.

DH had to pop a kick board off this morning as No1 had snuck through a gap at the side of one of the kitchen units and was stuck under it. These two are going to be Trouble (intentional capital t).

Both kittens used to hide inside my husband's recliner chair if they were scared.

We also have this. Tried to make him lots of spots but still prefers to go in the back of the sofa. We have to check every time we want to recline or sit back up

When I first got the late Maia, she wedged herself in a gab between kitchen units. That I didn't know existed! She stayed there during the day for a week.
