Insurance for kittens

This time next week I will have collected two new kittens. As they will be 9 weeks old they won't yet be vaccinated/chipped/neutered. I'm trying to sort out insurance.
I have never had a pet policy before as the last time I got new kittens was 20+ years ago and it was less of a thing. One of last pair sailed through life never needing to see a vet beyond routine vaccines but her brother was a different story....

As I would struggle with a hefty bill I have decided to insure this time. I'm trying to get quotes and they want to know about vaccines/chipping etc. Obviously I will be doing this but the current truthful answer is no. I think this is affecting the quotes so do I say yes as this will be the case shortly or do I say no and have higher premiums for the first year?

I was never asked whether my cats were vaccinated or chipped - only about whether they were neutered. They weren't, but when I got them done I just rang Tesco and changed it - it didn't make any difference to the price though.

The only reason vaccinated/chipped status makes a difference is when you want to claim. They don't really care otherwise.

The rescue or breeder should provide a month's free insurance which gives you some leeway.
