Does my boy sound gifted/talented to you?

He's two and comes and taps my arm to let me know my other cat has been sick. Runs to the offending pile, sits down and waits while I clean it up then goes about his day.

well mine goes and sits by my toothbrush and calls me when he thinks I should be going to bed. Also turns the bathroom light on, ready so I think mine is G and T too!

Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly · 04/09/2023 21:18

This isn't a serious post, surely? 😁

Clefable · 04/09/2023 21:19

That's nothing, my dog goes and eats it so I don't even have to clean it. Now THAT is smart.

Iop · 04/09/2023 21:19

😂😂😂 I thought you were describing a child until you clarified in your second post! I was verrry confused!

OchonAgusOchonOh · 04/09/2023 21:21

If "your boy" is your son, then no, not terribly bright. If it's a cat, then no idea. I just have dogs😁

vodkaredbullgirl · 04/09/2023 21:22

My dogs do that when each other are been sick. Come running in then running out again, keep doing it till i go and see.

erikbloodaxe · 04/09/2023 21:22

Of course its not bloody serious. Its a fucking cat.Grin

Orturo · 04/09/2023 21:22

erikbloodaxe · 04/09/2023 21:23

My cat has mastered her poor starving face so well, that even though I know I've fed her, I feed her again just in case I'm actually wrong.

erikbloodaxe · 04/09/2023 21:26

@Orturo well he's a Siamese so not quite berbal but certainly vocal Smile

Don't all cats do that? Greedy wee buggers!

Ours even goes next door for dreamies as a top up. They don't even have a cat but buy dreamies with their weekly shop for him!

My mother is the WORST cat owner ever, buys hers £5+ tins each that they don't like as they are spoiled shits then brings the tins they invariably hate for our wee bugger who thinks he's KING.

ohsuzannah · 04/09/2023 21:42

I have a puppy who's not quite housetrained yet, so sometimes if the back door is closed she will poop in downstairs toilet and then come and bark at me to pick it up 😂

WildFlowerBees · 04/09/2023 21:53

This is nothing, my cat knows how to use a hoover and I often wake up at 4am when she taps me on the face to show me how clean the floors are. She's the best, I also love it when she wakes me up at 3am to tell me she can't hoover on an empty stomach and her almost full food bowl is showing a little bit of dish bottom so could I fill it up. Cats are the best 😸

Toddlerteaplease · 04/09/2023 22:13

I used to send Magic out to find cheddar. Cheddar would reappear within a couple of minutes, with Magic in pursuit. Amazed she had enough brain cells.

Swirls346 · 04/09/2023 22:29

I have two Siamese and they are extremely intelligent. One of mine has learned how to unlock the back door (he jumps up at the key until it turns). He also can open doors and strolls in and out as if he owns the place!
He's so good with my son (who is 20 months) and sits in his little pram and likes to be pushed around.
He also cuddles me, physically gets his arms(or are they legs?) 😂 and wraps them around my neck and purrs,
I think the cat is seriously a human trapped in a cats body. My other Siamese is not so intelligent but he's still more clever than your average cat.

Your cat vacuums? Is this a jocular way of saying that she rides the cleaning robot?

VitoCorleoneOfMNMafia · 05/09/2023 04:48

i once slipped over in the garden and Dcat ran indoors to fetch DM to help me up.

WandaWonder · 05/09/2023 04:50

If they can cook dinner, do the hoovering and dusting and put the washing away then sure if no they are not

WildFlowerBees · 05/09/2023 06:10

Yes @VitoCorleoneOfMNMafia she sits on the Eufy. Not smart at all.

Saverage · 05/09/2023 07:38

I sometimes ponder the G+T nature of my ginger girl. She taps me on the shoulder when it's time for me to get up, and has a wide variety of miaows to express what she wants.

She can't open cupboard doors though so I think her intelligence is more on the emotional side.

GalileoHumpkins · 05/09/2023 13:21

We taught ours to do a high five in return for a treat now he randomly comes over and holds his paw up as a hint. He's definitely a genius.
