Can I stop cat bringing mice in?

I really don't like mice and a rat would be even worse.
I've NCed as I've talked to a few people IRL about this.

I have a collar with a bell ready to put on her. Is this likely to work?
Any other ideas?

She's just started bringing mice in and I really want it to stop.

Ours brings in live ones, I had to catch one in the living room the other day 🤦🏻‍♀️

don't even get me started on the live bird he put in my handbag 🙄

My cat regularly brings in dead bodies - a bell makes no difference. I lock the cat flap if she comes in for the evening, but in the summer she often stays out making short visits (just long enough to drop off the body) in the early hours so that doesn’t work. This cartoon made me laugh.

A cat killing prey is the most natural thing for it to do so I guess if you want a cat then you should be able to accept it. Please don’t put a bell around its neck…imagine being your cat and having a constant noise right next to your ears (especially if you have excellent hearing) not only annoying but disrupting all your fun and natural instinct. It would be like putting a ball and chain around a human.

No cat flap, no leaving doors or low windows open, only let the cat in through a glass door (or a door with a window, or a door with a window near it). At night keep a torch by the door; when she rocks up, shine it on her and have a good long look through the glass before letting her in - sometimes it's difficult to tell that she's got something in her mouth if her head is down, so check carefully. Every member of household to be instructed to check her before letting her in. This is working so far for us, after several months of mousie hell which led to her losing her open-window privileges.
