I have some Royal Canin Babycat milk (1st age milk) which I purchased when I was nursing a sick feral kitten a couple of years ago.
I used it then, but didn't need to use all of it so stuck it in the cupboard.
I now have 3 kittens who were born under our outside garden sofa to a feral mum who was also born here.
The kittens are getting to an age where they will need to start weaning and I want to help mum cat by putting food out for the kittens to try.
I have some in date cat crunchies that are for age 1 month to 12 months, and was planning to mix this with baby cat milk to make a soft milky mush the kittens could eat safely.
My problem is that I just checked and although I have an unopened foil sachet of the powdered baby cat milk the use by date on the tin is 20 May 2021. (Been in the cupboard far longer than I thought - oops!)
So my question is, even though it is out of date, the foil sachet has never been opened so can I still use it, or will it be nutritionally worthless now due to it's age?
It's quite expensive to buy here (in Spain) and if it can safely be used it would help.
All advice and opinions gratefully received, thank you.
Obligatory pic of said kittens attached. Sorry it's not brilliant but they are timid and shy so getting a pic before they scoot back under the sofa is hard!
