Young cat problems

Words of wisdom please. We have a young cat, she is about 16 weeks old, and with us for a month or so. We have a feliway but so far have had the following issues, urinating on a person, on a bath mat, and very recently, on a bed. She is a playful, but timid kitty. She is well fed, drinks enough, seems otherwise happy. She always has a clean litter box which she mostly uses. Also, she scratches our sofa and carpet, and walls, and doesn't use her scratching posts. Any ideas about what could be causing the urination issue? It's really unpleasant.

My cat went through this phase as a kitten. He used to like to pee on things left on the floor like plastic bags. I would give him a sharp 'no', pick him up and put him in the litter tray whenever I caught him. He soon stopped. I think it can just be a learning/ experimental phase with some kittens. It doesn't necessarily mean that there's anything wrong. He knew that he was supposed to use the tray, but thought that he'd test out other places too!

She is from a proper breeder, we have the paperwork from two routine vets checks which she had before we got her, she came fully vaccinated and microchipped, worm and flea treated, and insured. She has 4 generations pedigree, and was raised in a busy home with cats, dogs, and children to keep her company.

@Yarnysaura I don't think it's very helpful or positive to say she's not a well bred kitten, or there's something fundamentally wrong with her, or the way she had been brought up. We did everything correctly and by the book when we chose her. I'm a bit upset tbh, you seem to be implying the only way she could be like she is is if she's from a kitten farm, and she has had such a good upbringing.

She is a bit timid. Jumps when she sees the guinea pigs. Hides behind the sofa when I switch the hoover on. She hid for two days sleeping when we brought her home, miaows on car journeys. However, she is playful, and hugely affectionate. She's my little shadow following me round the house, and always comes to see me when I call her name. She is a healthy weight, and appearance. Just because she is a bit timid, that's her personality. It does not mean she is from a kitten farm.

Some cats are just more nervous than others - it's not necessarily a sign of bad breeding or poor socialisation so please don't let those comments upset you.

We had two cats from the same litter some years ago - a brother/sister pair. The boy was super confident, loved people, loved other cats and just generally never worried about anything. His sister was much more timid - took ages to warm up to people and would hide if we had guests over. She became more confident as she got older though ☺️

They both had exactly the same upbringing and socialisation so it seems it's just as much about personality as anything else.
