Who are the best and most comprehensible cat insurance medical company for domestic short hair 8 who’s otherwise very heathy?

She adopted me over lockdown and got permission to keep and vet card from previous owners.

Used to use Sainsburys for pet insurance but no idea who to use now.

We use Napo
Cover is comprehensive excess more reasonable than most and they have 24/7 vet video appointments that are free, and have saved some cash in vet fees
If you do go with them use the link and we'll both get a £30 Amazon voucher

Tesco have been brilliant with my troublesome felines.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 25/06/2023 18:42

@UndercoverCop thanks! Will looks
into this and see if they’re good for me!

@Toddlerteaplease yes I think Tesco probably similar to Sainsburys and yes yes to troublesome felines! Her only vet bill recently was £1,200 for 2 teeth removed and scale and polish but I know most insurance doesn’t cover dental work. Luckily she is very sweet!

Samsonsmum · 25/06/2023 18:48

Omg! What for?! Did the insurance pay out for most of that?

So they should pay out really, whole point of insurance otherwise you’re best off putting the money (for any insurance) into a separate account but earmarking it for that.

We use Waggel. They are excellent. Had to claim recently for one of our four cats and the service was just so personal. Did not feel like an anonymous company but caring and helpful. They paid out promptly and with no fuss.
I would thoroughly recommend.

Toddlerteaplease · 25/06/2023 22:06

@GonnaGetGoingReturns yes they've Paid it all.
Magic had; pancreatitis, punctured eyeball, ?cardiomyopathy. Eye ulcer and removal of eye.

The late Maia had recurrent jaw issues and surgery for that. And Cardiomyopathy.

Touch would Cheddar has had no claims yet!

dementedpixie · 25/06/2023 22:18

I use ManyPets

Gingerkittykat · 25/06/2023 22:28

I had a great experience with Animal Friends, the vet claimed directly through their portal and they paid up quickly.

dearJayne · 25/06/2023 23:00

Avoid animal friends.

Whole Facebook page dedicated to the people they've bumped over the years.

whirlyhead · 26/06/2023 17:06

Petplan definitely. They’ve paid out around £20k over my two 4 year old cats (that’s for 11 operations) without a quibble. My vet said they’re the best too.
