My poor old boy

He’s 17. He has clearly had a stroke today. Head listing to the side, can’t walk, he goes around in circles.

Got an appointment to put him to sleep tomorrow morning. We are all so gutted.

My eldest has had him since he was a toddler, my youngest is just a toddler and calls our cat her best friend. My 9 year old has never known life without him and is just distraught.

Sorry, I don’t know what I want from posting this. He’s been the most wonderful cat. Only ever wanted to sit and be stroked in a child’s lap his entire life, so gentle with children.

He’s had a long life, I knew this was coming but I’m just gutted.

He sounds like he was an awesome cat. Fly high, little one.

😭

Our boy was of a similar nature, nanny to the kids his life revolved around being with them. We all still miss him very much.

17 wonderful years to be treasured Flowers

Very sad and you're right "bloody animals" they hoik a bit of your heart when they leave you .

My DC were young when we had our old girl euthanised (also 17yo) years ago , but DS gave his fabric bag to put her in and they helped dig a hole in the garden.

Your DC will know Archie was a huge part of their lives and at the end the decision was made in his best interest . It's always a tough decision but sometimes theres no other option.

They can choose some favourite photos and talk about "remember when Archie did..."
He sounds like a lovely , well loved special boy.

I’m so sorry to everyone else that has lost a much loved cat.

We are okay. We spent some time this afternoon remembering the daft things he did. The amount of times we couldn’t find him, only to realise he had snuck into the rabbit hutch when we closed it up for the night and we’d find him snuggled up asleep with the rabbits in the hay.

Ds is so upset, he’s 20 and he doesn’t remember not having Archie in his life. Dd is happy that she was there at least, I’m glad I took her, she handled it so well. She chose the box for his ashes and wants to keep them.

My toddler keeps looking for him, which is horrible.

I know we did the right thing for him, he couldn’t have gone on any longer.
