That's what I'm hoping. My lad is honestly lovely and such a nice boy but he has his issues. He has also been diagnosed with PTSD following the trauma following me and his father separating. Sapphire is so placid and calm. My son was so happy when he saw her. He is 9 and a massive animal lover. I am besotted with her already! She and her brother were advertised for half an hour before they were all snapped up x

Awww, well I hope your boy and kittyfur are sooo happy. Smile By the way, don't feel bad about getting her at 8 weeks. Whilst it is advised to let kittens stay with mum til 11-12 weeks, it's not unheard of - (and it's not cruel or bad) - to have them leave at 8-10 weeks.

So don't take what was said to you by another poster to heart. It's OK. She will be fine. So will her mama, 😘 It is not uncommon for kittens to be given away at 8 to 10 weeks.

@Jomummy1013 She's 9 weeks and her name is Stormy.

They are allowed to leave mum at 8 weeks but that's the absolute minimum but we have three other cats who are showing her the ropes.

Jomummy1013 · 21/05/2023 23:55

@EbonyRaven thank you. She seems independent enough and is confident and exploring the house. Like I said in a PP my older cat isn't keen, is just growling at Sapphire. I thought it was the norm at 8 weeks. She is eating the food I got her, drinking water and using her litter tray. She is happy. I know pedigree registered kittens stay with their mothers longer but I thought 8 weeks was fairly common. I've not adopted enough kittens to be sure! Xx❤️❤️

Beautiful name and it suits her. How old is she?

Sorry she is 9 weeks, I'm half asleep. How have you found or adopting a younger kitten? X

8 weeks is probably the lower end of the 'allowed amount of weeks!' But it's OK. It's not unheard of, and your little white ball of fluff looks healthy and content and happy. She will make a lovely pet I am sure. (And will have you all wrapped around her little finger soon!) Grin

The breeder had a lot of cats but she is such a lovely lady.

Of course she has lots of cats, she’s making money from them. She’s not lovely.

Yes. I'm sorry OP, you obviously love your beautiful new kitten.

But this isn't a 'lovely lady'. She's farming kittens.

Your cute little kitty's mum? She'll not have had much time to be sad about her last litter who were taken away & sold at 8 weeks, because she'll be pregnant again by now.

She's probably only a few months older than her first litter, & fairly bewildered by the whole thing. Not much like life as a loved pet.

I'm not having a go at you OP - your kitten is clearly loved - but NO ONE with a scrap of conscience is 'breeding' kittens.

Horrible bastards need finding & putting a stop to.

Florissante · 22/05/2023 07:53

OP, what a gorgeous kitten. I'm glad to hear that she is well and thriving.

Toddlerteaplease · 22/05/2023 08:31

Make sure you get her used to applying sun screen to her nose and ears. As she will burn.

Jomummy1013 · 22/05/2023 08:39

@MDParks that is complete cuteness overload.....omg ❤️❤️❤️
