Is it ok to feed a complementary wet food?

I have 5 very spoilt Siamese cats, who are sooo fussy about food.

Currently they all eat Wild Freedom complete dried food happily, but I can't find a good quality, grain and sugar free wet food that they all like.
I have tried Wild Freedom, Feringa, Butcher's classic, Vaenandi animal, Rosie's farm and Lily's kitchen. Probably others too, but that's what I have tried recently.
They love Harrington's - it is grain-free but full of sugar unfortunately. Obviously they will eat Whiskas etc.
They do like Encore, Applaws and Hi Life Perfection, but they are all complementary foods, not complete.

Do you think giving them complementary wet food is ok morning and night, if they have complete dry food available 24/7?

They range in ages from 8 months old to 15 years old 🙀

Mine (adopted) will only eat Whiskas and Sheba, but only certain flavours. 🙄
She also rarely drinks water so I have to give the wet food to ensure she stays hydrated. She has complete biscuits and is absolutely fine, the vet has no concerns.
I’ve got to feed her what she will eat so I don’t stress about it.

Maybe I will give in and go back to Harrington's - is that better than a complementary sugar-free food?

If they have complete dry food then it should be fine to give additional complementary wet food

Tygertiger · 05/05/2023 18:06

I give complementary just to ensure they have some liquid in their diet. I think as long as you feed it alongside a complete dry, it’s fine.

I thought encore was a complete wet food

dementedpixie · 05/05/2023 18:08

Is thrive wet not also a complete food?

LangClegsInSpace · 05/05/2023 18:08

This is what we do a lot of the time with our cat who has food allergies.

Also, Sainsbury's delicious recipes might suit your cats. It's complete but has a very small ingredients list. It's like Encore in jelly to look at.

Unfortunately not. They do love it as a bedtime snack.

Thrive is similar to encore and is complete

LilacpointMummy · 05/05/2023 18:24

Thanks - have tried Thrive dry food which they HATED (even the fat one) but haven't tried the wet.

Aww they look like a beautifully coordinated cushion set 😍

LilacpointMummy · 05/05/2023 18:36

Thank you - I do like to match 😆

Although it is very confusing having 3 lilac points!
They have different collars which is ok as they don't go out at the moment, but the collars will have to come off if they go out, and then it's going to get really tricky 🙀

Mine has half a tin of Applaws kitten food - tuna on top of her complete dry food. She's 8. A sort of amuse bouche 😂😂 it's more of a routine thing that she likes. She sits up on a kitchen stool, I fuss her a bit then she goes and has a nibble before wandering off to snack on her dry food which is in a different spot . As is her water bowl
