Help - cystitis

Hi All,
Hoping for some advice as I am worrying.. my 2 year old cat was on the littertray constantly yesterday and I noticed her pee was pinkish so took her to emergency vet. They think its cystitis and gave her an anti-inflammatory shot and same capsules to help calm her. Plus follow on anti-inflmmatory liquid. There is no improvement yet.. she is constantly on littertray and won't settle for a sleep, she seems very restless. She is eating and I have put a little water in her wet food to keep her hydrated. Should she be improving by now or can it take time for symptoms to improve?
Thanks for any advice.

@miccoops Our vet wasn't convinced when I told them what we'd used to treat her, but it certainly worked in our case so really hope it's helpful for you too! There also seemed to be no real cause for our cats cystitis- she's super laid back, there had been no changes etc apart from the weather getting warmer... keep us posted on how you get on.

Yep, been to Tesco for some already and also making some chicken broth to increase fluids. Keeping fingers crossed. Thanks for the tip

@Elfy11 Thanks for checking in. She was much the same yesterday but I think there is a little improvement today. She is hungry and more settled which is a good sign and the pee's are no longer pink, but still frequent. Yesterday she would sit on the litter tray for 4-5 mins stints but today she isn't, its just on, quick wee, and off..better than yesterday for sure, she has been chasing butterflies again which I am taking as a good sign.

I have been getting lots of fluids in her and she seems happy on the wet diet now and eats well, also using cystaid twice a day, apple cider vinegar, d-mannose, and brought another feliway plug in for upstairs. I said to myself that if she was no better today then I would take her to the vet again. She is a little better so I am holding off.. she gets very upset at the vet so I am worried about stressing her out and making it worse. I am giving her lots of attention and playtime as I read that could help, plus she's lovely! My other cat is being extra nice, perhaps its the feliway friend plugin, but he's playing with her lots and grooming her too.

I am WFH this week so I can monitor and changing her litter daily to make sure she is weeing ok.

Ah this all sounds very positive! Hope she keeps improving and is more settled today 😊

@Elfy11 So much better today! Hardly on the litter tray and when she goes they are back to big pees. She seems so much more content and is laying in the garden enjoying the sunshine. I'll have to stay strict on diet and hope it doesn't come back. I'll keep her on cystaid too and the little bit of apple cider vinegar for the time being. Just to be sure all is settled. Thanks again.
