Litter, that doesn't smell?

We have been using the cats best litter for a long time but the tracking is driving me insane. Tried wood pellets but they have a really odd smell.

Litter tray is cleaned pretty much as soon as it's been used and cleaned out properly, disinfected etc once every 3-4 weeks.

Someone has to clean the litter as soon as it's been used because otherwise it's smells badly. My cats arse absolutely stinks!

Is there a litter that has odour control that is clumping and doesn't track so badly?

I use s silicone litter from B&M. It gets changed every 10 days and scooped out daily. I find this doesn’t smell and she in indoors.

Going against the grain…. Asda basic range. Clumps really well and less than £2 a bag.
Doesn’t track as much as others.
All poops scooped out as soon as I see she’s gone and then cleaned out once a week.
I used to use a different brand but Asda sent that as a replacement in an order and I was pleasantly surprised

I see you've tried it but wood pellets work best for us. Not quite so easily tracked (although he does try!) and smells of well, wood.

I use intersand classic. It clumps really well. I scoop daily and chafe monthly's

My tray is in the kitchen as there is nowhere else for it to go.

We use corn litter which clumps really well - thus locking in the pong. We have two cats, each uses his own tray and we fully change and scrub trays weekly.

The wood stuff is designed and advertised to be changed less frequently. Because it’s wood it doesn’t trail

catsan is designed differently and breaks up quicker when wet because one of the ingredients is chalk. This is why catsan and others trail a lot.

She could be digging to the bottom to try and get rid of the chalk. When we used it they would do the same and then use the mat to dig their claws in. The longer they stayed doing that the less the track. When we went over to wood, the excessive digging and clawing lessened.

We're using wood, we have Cats best. I've cleaned and disinfected and just put in wood pellets.

Actual sawdust. DH does wood-turning and I used sawdust from that once when we ran out of cat litter and the difference was amazing, so I stuck with it. I haven’t tried buying sawdust but think you can get it for rabbit bedding in pet shops.

There are different cats best. The smart pellets do not track.

We have tried at least 10 different cat litters, and the wee would smell after about 2-3 days. Then found "Fresh News" cat litter which is made from recycled paper with an ammonia locker.
With this one we change it once a week on bin day. So we completely empty and throw away the litter, disinfect the tray, then fresh litter goes back in.

Obviously, poops are going to smell whatever cat litter you use, so you just need to get that up straight away and open a window for 10 minutes. We just use a dog poo bag and grab it out.
Also, during summer when we have warmer weather, litter can smell more due to the heat, so you may have to change it after 4-5 days.

This is the litter:

Intersand. It does track a little but the litter is heavier so it doesn't track as far as some of the lightweight and corn-based litters. It lasts for ages.

Also, use an extra deep tray and plenty of litter so 'things' can be properly buried.

Worlds Best for me too. And grain free diet means there's almost no odour or tracking.
