Elderly cat with constant watery eye.

DCat is 15 and very much an outdoor cat, only really coming in to eat and stay warm overnight then she’s out all day.
I can see her starting to decline a bit. She’s losing condition despite eating well and worming but is happy enough (her meow is going though! Just a squeak now!)

for a few months now shes had an intermittent watery eye. It’s not pus or yellow, more a pinky watery fluid. I have had saline drops but she’s an absolute nightmare to catch and administer them and I’ve been bitten and scratched badly whilst trying to put them in.

it obviously not clearing up on its own, I’ll need to get her to a vet but I know I’ll have almost zero success at getting medication in regularly.

Any tips? I don’t think it’s infected but always watering and it looks nasty as it stains the skin and fur around her eye.

I’ve read it can be RSV, does this sound like it is and if so what’s the prognosis?

Could be an ulcer. That's what Magics eye did when she had one. And also when she injured the other one. 🙄. However she always has gunky eyes so I didn't really think anything of it.

I have a cat who is 13 who also has an intermittent watery eye. It looks like she is crying bless her. I got the vet to take a look when we were there for something else and she did a test with some dye and said it was a blocked tear duct. Said they could operate to unblock it but chances are it would block again. I just wipe her eye gently with a piece of wet cotton wool to stop it getting sore.
