Plants that are safe for cats

I didn't know whether to put this in the gardening section or here, but hopefully there are some cat loving gardening experts who can help.

I've decided I want a big plant in the corner of my kitchen. I was thinking of a cheese plant as there used be one at my mum's house which my cat lived to climb. I also remember them as being fairly hard to kill (I have the opposite of green thumbs). I have read though that they can be toxic to cats and one of my furry overlords would definitely be stupid enough to try to eat the leaves.

Does anyone know of a similar big plant, preferably hard to kill, that is safe for cats? Otherwise I guess I can go for a fake but I like the idea of something real if possible.

Snake plants won’t kill them.

Snake plants won’t kill them.

Apparently they can be toxic too. Bloody cats, if only I could trust them not to chew on the leaves!

Spider plants.

A parlour palm (chamaedorea elegans) should be ok, considered non toxic and you could buy a big one.

Spider plants are fairly indestructible as well as safe!

I've killed many spider plants. The snake plants upright and broad tough leaves theyd struggle to get their mouths around. It'll cause drooling if they do but it wont kill them and I so far havent killed mine.

I killed a peace lily once. I'm like a plant grim reaper.

I've shopped at Patch before (www.patchplants.com/gb/en/) and they have a filter for pet-safe plants.

This guy is nice and safe! www.patchplants.com/gb/en/plants/kentia-palm-17/
