Overgrooming

Hello, I hope someone can offer some advice.
I recently got 2 cats from a rescue.
1 is still in hiding, hisses if we go near. I'm happy to give her time, its been 2 weeks.

The other appears very happy and settled. She is friendly, always comes for a cuddle, sleeps on my bed, purrs, eat, sleeps and toilets well. But she is overgrooming and has a large bald patch on her tail.

Her history is that she was abandoned in a locked building and was practically bald when found.
She was at the rescue for 2 years, and all her fur grew back except a patch on her tail.
But now she is here, she is doing it again and the patch is getting bigger and bigger.

I have feliway friends plugged in in 1 room, but she had access to the whole house now.

I am not too concerned about the hiding cat, I think given time she will emerge, but I am very worried about how to stop the other one grooming all her fur off.

Can anyone suggest something to help?

Thanks.

You could try Zylkene. It comes in little capsules that you can pull open and sprinkle the contents on their wet food - mine actually like the taste & will lick it off first. You can get it from the vets, Pets at Home, or online (get mine off Amazon)

Try standard Feliway. I've never found the Friends version to work

My cat had a bold patch and it was linked to problems with her thyroid, might be worth asking a vet.
