We have him since he was 9 weeks old. He's been sterilized and looked after well. He's over 2 years old now and some nights he's hunting my leg, sometimes he become very agressive. We play with him and everything so I don't know what else should I do. Today he bit me very very badly on my arm, and after this I am just so lost, I am really worried one day he'll do this with my son too. He never bites my husband, only me. I have no idea why because I never did anything wrong to him. Then other times he always follows me, purring, only stays in my lap. What could I do? I feel heartbroken but I want to protect my son, he loves our kitty and goes after him ect. I'm worries once I don't look for a minute then he'll bite him tok this bad....I love this cat and I don't want to give up on him. Nothing happened lately what could have change his behavior ... please help..😭😭😭

I am so sorry to hear this, it's very distressing. Have you tried talking to your vet, or perhaps a cat behaviourist.
My cat is similar, was a homeless street cat, and after 6 years he is still the same. He only lashes out at me too. I don't have a bond with him either which is really sad, asI love cats and have had 6 over 40 odd years.
I don't know the answer. 💐

What are the circumstances around the bite?

Is he being played with?
Ignored?
Fussed?
Could he be in pain?
Is he hungry?

Did the bite today break the skin? If so then you must seek medical attention as cat bites can turn very nasty.

Hunting your legs in the night sounds much more like boredom than aggression. I know you say you play with him, but is it at the right times of day? Cats want to play at dawn and dusk as that is when they would normally hunt. I would make sure you have some toys around that he can play with by himself at those times. My cat loves those tiny little catnip mice. She’ll ambush them and throw them about and chase them around by herself. Some cats love those ball run things, or you could hang some dangly toys if that’s his thing.

The bite on your arm today sounds like it may be a different issue though. It sounds like that may have been genuine aggression, rather than rough play, How did that happen? Could it be overstimulation? Pain? Could there be something outside that is scaring him that he can’t get to that is making him lash out?

Seems a bit surprising behaviour for a rag doll. I thought they are a bit dopey, lazy and not very dynamic.

My ragdoll is the same, only bites me and not others
We have started letting him out in the garden - I think it's boredom that makes him a bit psycho!

If you have an enclosed garden I second letting him out in it. My Persians live a potter around mine.

Unfortunately ragdolls have been really overbred in recent years so I suspect many are not really up to pedigree standard (not saying this is the case for OP, it's more of a general observation).

So yes, a well-bred ragdoll should be placid and calm and affectionate towards people but I suspect a lot of ragdolls are from less-than-desirable situations with a queen who maybe doesn't have the right temperament for breeding herself. You only need to look PaH or Gumtree to see how many ragdoll kittens are available - there's no way they're all from well-bred parents with all the relevant breed tests and checks.

Also, cats are cats - lots of people won't let their pedigrees outside even though their behaviour is clearly screaming out for more stimulation and the adventure of outdoors. I'm not against indoor cats by any means (my own are indoors) but they don't bite me or have behavioural problems. A cat who is biting people is not a happy cat.

@thelobsterquadrille yes. I completely agree. I have Persians who were rescued from a kitten farm. One of whom had HCM and should never have been bred from.

Ragdolls are good hunters, mice, squirrels, they enjoy the outdoors life. A house cat doesn't get this stimulation. Could this be the problem @Usernamemommy

Hello l have two ragdolls and because Ted was so rough in play as a kitten, he would jump on my back Ouch ! I gave him to my daughter as she has 3 cats and when brought him home after 2 months, he never scratch again. Cats have an order which is usually taught by the mother cat. I would suggest find him a play mate as l did that and was the best thing l could have done. Your cat needs you. Good luck

There's a test for ragdoll and other cats. Pick them up and slowly push them against a wall if they resist with their front legs they're smart, if they face plant they're not. 😂
